Unable to turn a blind eye to a cat and her three little kittens, Ash forgot about her errands and focused on offering them a helping hand.

The mother cat was stretched out on the sunlit foliage while her kittens played around her. It was a sight that both warmed and broke Ash’s heart. She shared in an interview:

“After speaking with a worker from the bakery, it was revealed that they had appeared sometime that afternoon. Someone must have dumped them. Mama was very calm and friendly but protective, just relaxing in the sun with her babies.”

Determined to help, Ash instantly reached out to a local cat rescue in New York, Whisker-A-GoGo, for assistance.

Fortunately, they were happy to help and provide the feline family with a foster home. But little did Ash know what would happen next. Eva from Whisker-A-GoGo shared:

“With the bakery workers’ help, we scooped them up and brought them to safety.”

The kittens were affectionately named Strudel, Grim, and Buffy, and they quickly settled into their foster home. On the other hand, their mom, Ophelia, decided to remain cautious.

However, it didn’t take her long to warm up to her foster family. By the end of the day, she began to relax and seek attention, though she was still very protective of her babies. Ash added:

“Mama’s love for her kittens was fierce. She was incredibly protective of them and took great care, especially of her poor injured baby, Strudel.”

Street life is harsh, and sadly, it took the greatest toll on Strudel. She had a wounded and fractured back paw. 

However, she didn’t let that stop her from living her life to the fullest. She was strong and brave, determined to fight for her chance at life.

After receiving plenty of love and care, the three kittens showed remarkable improvement, and their true personalities finally began to shine through.

Ash dedicated a lot of time to caring for Strudel, as she needed the most help, not realizing that she was slowly crawling under her skin. 

Sensing the incredible amount of love, Strudel kept coming to Ash whenever she needed comfort or attention. Ash said:

“From the first night we had her, we really fell in love.”

Strudel was fortunate when a vet tech named Lisa learned about her situation. Lisa offered specialized care for the tiny furball, and it turned out to be exactly what Strudel needed. Ash added:

“She is healing and doing much better. Her wound is clean/healthy looking and has started to scab over.”

On the other hand, Buffy and Grim grew rapidly, becoming more and more ready for their new chapter in life. Ash said:

“Buffy and Grim look like little matching cinnamon buns. Grim, with his darker coat, and Buffy, with her frosted toes and belly, are just the sweetest pair. We know they’re going to make their future adopter very lucky.”

To everyone’s surprise, the mother cat Ophelia was the first to find a loving home. She charmed a family with her friendly personality, which they just couldn’t resist, and they adopted her. Ash shared:

“This gentle, long-haired beauty – once abandoned – now has a safe place to call her very own. Her new people are head over heels for her affectionate spirit and those bright green eyes. We couldn’t be happier for the second chance that this queen truly deserves.”

After Ophelia, it was the kittens’ turn to find their forever homes, but little did Ash know that Strudel had already chosen her family.

She was the one who spent the most time with Ash, and the two simply became inseparable. Ash didn’t need to think much before making an important decision:

“We’re thrilled to announce that Strudel will stay right where she’s happiest – in her foster mom’s loving home. Though her paw is still healing, she’s already got her forever home.”

From the moment Ash saw this feline family, she sensed there was something special about them, but she never thought she’d end up with one of the kittens by her side.

Yet, fate had other plans and helped them become a fantastic duo, who now can’t live without each other.
