Federico Redondo reveals why Messi can continue playing at the top level for many more years.
About to turn 40, Lionel Messi is a mainstay at Inter Miami and is highly appreciated by teammate Federico Redondo.
Recently, Federico Redondo revealed the reason why Messi can continue to play at the top level for many more years.
“There are many talented players, but in my opinion, no one can compare to him. In addition to his outstanding talent, Messi has won every title, even many times.
In every training session, he always gives his all and is constantly hungry for victory. Every match, he sets the goal to win, and if he fails, he feels very miserable,” Redondo shared.
When asked about how long Messi could continue playing, Redondo said: “I won’t speak for him, but when I see Messi training every day, I think he can play until he’s 45.”
This is an interesting observation, as Messi will be 39 years old by the time the 2026 World Cup takes place. With his talent and dedication, many believe that Messi still has many years of peak performance ahead of him.
Goalkeeper Oscar Ustari, who will only make one appearance for Inter Miami in the 2024 MLS season, shared his experience with Messi.
“Messi is incredibly competitive, he excels at everything. There are teammates who have never met him and they are amazed. At that level, nothing is accidental. You see real football in him, training, staying in shape and proving himself every day is Messi’s motivation,” Ustari told the Mirror.
“Messi treats everyone the same, very close like a family. He is very involved in the academy and always cares about everything. I see Messi like that. He will have to manage his image in a different way. I don’t want to imagine Messi when he is away from the pitch,” Ustari added.
