Neymar ‘liked’ Messi’s latest Instagram post after the Argentinean posted that Inter Miami had just won their first match to kick off the 2025 season against Club America.
It is normal for Neymar to interact with Messi on social media. They have always maintained a close friendship. Neymar once revealed that he, Messi and Suarez have a private chat group on an application, where they regularly discuss things every day.
However, Neymar has just made a strange move on Messi’s Instagram account, right at the time when there are rumors that the 32-year-old Brazilian star is considering joining Inter Miami to reunite with Messi and Suarez in January 2025, making fans of these famous players extremely excited about the possibility of it coming true.
Neymar is facing a very high possibility of leaving Al Hilal, due to not being registered to compete in the Saudi Pro League. Al Hilal coach Jorge Jesus said: “Neymar is currently not meeting the physical requirements. He can no longer keep up with his teammates physically. Therefore, I hope Neymar will accept this reality. He will be able to compete in the AFC Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup, if he decides to stay with us.”
Neymar’s contract with Al Hilal will expire on June 30, before the FIFA Club World Cup begins. Coach Jorge Jesus’ offer is probably just a consolation, the possibility of Neymar staying at Al Hilal until the end of his contract is extremely low.
According to Globo channel (Brazil), Santos Club, where Neymar grew up before moving to Europe to join Barcelona Club, has made a move to reunite with Neymar by offering Al Hilal a loan contract for this star from January to June.
“This is not a simple proposal, but Santos FC is optimistic. The team hopes that paying part of Neymar’s salary will satisfy Al Hilal’s conditions. After that, they will find a solution to recruit this star long-term when the contract expires. Santos has now sent an official proposal to Al Hilal, and is waiting for the Saudi Arabian team to give the green light,” said Globo channel. Journalist Fabrizio Romano, a transfer news expert, also confirmed this information.
“Santos have beaten Chicago Fire (in MLS, the American professional soccer league) in the race for Neymar,” Fabrizio Romano confirmed.
However, AS (Spain) predicts: “Messi and Suarez’s Inter Miami club is also a strong candidate, because it has all the best professional factors to support Neymar in regaining his peak form. Coming to Inter Miami, Neymar will certainly achieve both factors, high income and reunion with his former teammates from Barcelona, as this player has long wished for.”
Messi and Inter Miami, after beating Club America 3-2 on penalties (2-2 draw in regulation time) on January 19, have now packed their bags and headed to Peru to prepare for the next training match against Club Universitario de Deportes (8am on January 30). Inter Miami’s next tour is to Panama and Honduras, before returning to Florida to face cross-town rivals Orlando City SC.
Messi and his teammates will begin the 2025 season against Sporting Kansas City in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup round 1 at 8am on February 19. Their MLS opener will be against New York City FC at home at 2:30am on February 23.
