Lionel Messi had an excellent day to help Inter Miami defeat Olimpia in the pre-season friendly series.
On the morning of February 9 (Vietnam time), Inter Miami had an overwhelming 5-0 victory over Olimpia in a friendly match in Honduras. Messi’s team showed complete superiority when controlling the game and scoring very early.
Right from the first minutes, Inter Miami created great pressure with Messi at the center of the game. In the 17th minute, the Argentine striker almost opened the score with a decisive cut-in shot but missed the target. Ten minutes later, Inter Miami finally broke the deadlock. Luis Suarez cleverly broke the offside trap, then did not shoot but passed to Messi who easily tapped the ball into the empty net. This goal helped Inter Miami play more excitedly.
In the 44th minute, Messi continued to make his mark with a skillful move in the penalty area before setting up Redondo to make it 2-0. In the first half’s injury time, Messi beat the goalkeeper and created a favorable assist for Noah Allen to score the third goal.
In the second half, Inter Miami did not slow down their attacking tempo. In the 54th minute, Suarez increased the score to 4-0 with a delicate finish through the goalkeeper’s groin. Messi was then taken off and replaced by Morales in the 62nd minute.
Despite Messi’s absence, Inter Miami maintained their pressure. In the 79th minute, substitute Ryan Sailor ended the match with an easy goal from a cross from his teammate, making the score 5-0.
Olimpia were completely stuck in their search for an equalizer and did not create any significant dangerous opportunities. This victory is a clear demonstration of the strength and harmony between Messi, Suarez and his teammates in the Inter Miami squad.
