Hollywood stars reveal the objects they took from movies and TV shows

Over the years, many actors have not shied away from admitting to taking something from their respective film and television sets.

Stars Reveal What Theyve Taken From Set

Take Ryan Reynolds, for example. Following a long wait to nab his dream part as Deadpool, he made sure to grab a tangible memory — his suit — after production on the 2016 movie wrapped.

“I loved wearing it and I have run away with one,” he told Marie Claire in 2015. “I’ll probably get into trouble for saying that, but I’ve waited 10 years to do this movie. So, I’m leaving with a f–king suit.”

Three years later, Warner Bros. called out the Canadian actor via Twitter in May 2018 because he stole a ring his character wore in 2011’s Green Lantern. “Sorry @VancityReynolds, we’re going to need the ring back,” the studio tweeted, to which Reynolds replied, “Well, if we’d used a NuvaRing™️ in the first place, we wouldn’t be in this mess. #Deadpool2.”

Alexander Skarsgard Took Home Bloody Thong After Wrapping The Northman

Robert Downey Jr. has taken his fair share of items from his movie sets as well, including from Avengers: Age of Ultron. “There was a massive Avengers ‘A,’ which is outside the Avengers center,” he explained on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in April 2016. “I have it. I said, ‘Why is it in England? Send it back to L.A., I’ll put it in my office.’”

According to fellow Avengers star Tom Holland, the veteran actor also gifted the original Iron Man mask to the U.K. native’s brother, Paddy Holland. “Paddy has that in my parents’ house. It’s pretty cool,” the Devil All the Time actor told Collider in June 2019.

Additionally, Gabrielle Union managed to swipe a noteworthy item from the set of her 2000 teen comedy, Bring It On. “I have my cheerleading uniform somewhere. I just found it a few moves ago, but yeah I did not fit into it at the time I was trying to put it on,” she told MTV News in August 2015. “More than that, it was really my memories and the friendships — those live on … And one day maybe I can get back into my Bring It On uniform.”

Four years later, the former America’s Got Talent judge wore the outfit for Halloween. She even got a matching version to fit her daughter, Kaavia. “Ice Ice Ice… It’s COLD asf,” she captioned a cute video of the mother-daughter moment.

Tom Sturridge

The British actor told E! News in August 2022 that he was able to smuggle one thing from The Sandman set after playing Dream (a.k.a. Morpheus) on the Netflix show. “My pouch of sand,” he confessed when asked whether he took a keepsake. “It’s safe,” Sturridge insisted, noting, “So if we need it again, it’s very safe.”

Alexander Skarsgard

While his Northman costars got to keep swords and battle gear, the True Blood alum ended up with a bloody thong. “It wasn’t a choice, It was a gift,” he explained during an April 2022 appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. “That’s how much they valued my performance, my contribution to this movie.”

Skarsgard continued: “It’s the g-string that I wore. The end fight takes place on an erupting volcano and we’re naked. … So, that’s what I wore for a week, and my character’s quite wounded so he’s bleeding a lot profusely.”

The Downton Abbey alum was covered in prosthetics to play Pamela Anderson in Hulu’s Pam & Tommy, but she found one wardrobe piece that looks good even without her character’s large assets.

“In the Mexico montage, I had this amazing pink skirt and, like, very ’90s halter top,” she explained on Entertainment Weekly’s “Around the Table” in February 2022.

“It looks a little different without … the, um,” James laughed as she gestured to her chest. “It still looks good!”

Tom Holland

While the Spider-Man: No Way Home star ate spicy hot wings on First We Feast’s “Hot Ones,” he admitted that one of his Marvel costars gifted him a special memento from the set.

“My favorite souvenir was actually given to me, well actually to my little brother Paddy, when Black Panther was coming out,” Holland recalled in December 2021. “Robert Downey Jr. was making Doctor Doolittle in London and he was staying down the road from where I live. He invited us to a screening of Black Panther at his house. Paddy comes running into the room, and he’s holding the original Iron Man helmet, and Downey had given it to him as a gift. That’s a really special one for me because I was lucky enough to join the MCU but I joined it very late and that souvenir was from the original film.”

Allison Janney

The actress revealed that she took the wig she wore during her time on Mom.

“No one knew I was wearing a wig. And I come in for this season of Mom and the producers see me like this [with grey hair], and they’re like, ‘What have you done?! You should’ve asked us before you did this to your hair!'” Janney shared during an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in April 2021. “And I’m like, ‘Guys, I’ve been wearing a wig since season one, but nobody knew it.’ Everyone in the world knows it now. But that wig is coming with me.”

She also took “a few pairs of sweatpants,” saying, “My character Bonnie loved to be comfortable, as does Allison Janney, so I took a lot of sweatpants and made off with them.”

They were comfortable,” she admitted in one tweet, while sharing in another, “I do have a flogger in my house. It’s in the garage with dust.”

The Saturday Night Live alum has nabbed multiple props from his various film sets over the years, including a ring from Anchorman. After working on Step Brothers, he took a rather unusual item from the production. “These are my prosthetic testicles from Step Brothers,” he shared on The Graham Norton Show in May 2020. “They’re life-like and I have brought these out, much to the horror [of many]. At many a dinner party, I [have] presented these. These fake testicles are what was put on Brennan’s drum kit.”

The This Is 40 actress told Newsweek in December 2018 that she will “always take something” from the projects she has worked on. “I don’t steal it. I let them know,” she explained. “I have little things, like, I wore this pearl necklace with an animal tooth on it that I got from George of the Jungle. I have little things from each movie.”

Josh Radnor

The actor and director revealed that he received permission to take an iconic staple from the How I Met Your Mother set. The item, in fact, is what his character stole during the show’s 2005 pilot episode. “I had one request and [the show’s cocreators] Carter [Bays] and Craig [Thomas] very kindly gave it to me,” Radnor told She Knows in March 2014. “I asked for the blue French horn and I got the blue French horn.”
