Last month in Saudi Arabia, heavyweights Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury were both ringside for the Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury showdown.

At some point during the event, the two rivals came together and appeared to exchange pleasantries with each other.

During their trilogy series, Wilder had openly accused Fury of being a “cheater.” In the aftermath of their second fight in 2020, Wilder made allegations that Fury loaded his gloves among other things.

Fury has aggressively denied Wilder’s allegations.

Despite what appeared to be a friendly meeting between the two, Wilder makes it clear that he still harbors negative feelings towards Fury and still believes the British star is a ‘cheater.’

“I know a lot of people seen me with Fury. There’s a place and a time for all things. Of course… I can’t stand that motherf——, they know what’s up. He’s a cheater, I know a lot of things,” Wilder told ES News.

“A lot of top people know a lot of things, so they can’t be fooled bro. This is a peaceful ground. It’s like ‘I don’t like you, but I can come and let you know I see you see. We can co-exist with each other, you stay over there and I’ll stay over here, that’s it.’

“[It would be] totally different if I saw him out or something like that, I’m going to go off how my energy feels and that can be very unpredictable because I’m an unpredictable person. Fury didn’t know what I was going to do. I can feel him, I can feel it, I’m an impact but I came in peace. [There is a] time and place for everything.”

They fought to a controversial twelve round split draw in their 2018 encounter. Fury would stop Wilder in the seventh round of the rematch. The best fight of the trilogy happened in 2021 and saw both men hit the deck before Fury stopped Wilder in the eleventh.

The World Boxing Council ordered Wilder and Andy Ruiz to collide in a final eliminator. The winner would receive a mandatory crack at Fury’s WBC world title. At the moment, there is no word on whether or not Wilder will move ahead with Ruiz or go in another direction.
