Conor McGregor has questioned whether Tyson Fury will ever follow up on his promise to fight Francis Ngannou.
WBC heavyweight champion Fury previously called out ex-UFC title-holder Ngannou for a special rules boxing match in a cage.
The ‘Gypsy King’ suggested the crossover fight could take place if talks over a unification bout with Oleksandr Usyk in April broke down – which they did – with both fighters now working towards December.
Ngannou, meanwhile, left the UFC earlier this year after failing to agree a new contract and recently signed up for rival MMA promotion PFL.
‘The Predator’ is planning a boxing match before his debut in 2024 – with Fury, Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder all linked as possible opponents for the heavyweight knockout artist.
With Fury and Ngannou both on the hunt for a tune-up bout, UFC icon McGregor has called on the ‘Gypsy King’ to put his money where his mouth is.
In comments reported by The Sun, ‘Notorious’ said: “Is Tyson willing to step in the f****g cage or what?
“He’s saying he would, Tyson says a lot of things.
“I love him, he’s a mad, mad thing Tyson. And I’m excited to see him go.”
