Bella Thorne Claims She ‘Got In Trouble’ With Disney When She Was 14 Because She Wore A Swimsuit.

Bella Thorne has opened up on a time she previously angered Disney executives after wearing a bikini on the beach whilst appearing on their hit show Shake It Up

Bella Thorne has claimed she was previously told off by Disney Channel executives after they took issue with her wearing a bikini aged 14.

The 24-year-old actress and singer rose to fame on the channel after landing a role on Shake It Up opposite Zendaya.

During a recent appearance on the podcast Going Mental, Bella opened up about her experience on the show and the alleged incident that supposedly happened with Disney bosses.

According to the star, channel executives grew angry after she was spotted wearing a bikini on the beach in Florida.

Bella, who moved from Miami to LA to appear on the show, claimed: “It was really weird for us when we came to LA because you know, we used to change on the beach in Miami for photoshoots. I wore a bikini like every day for my whole life.

“And then when we came here, we saw that just wasn’t the case and then I remember I got in trouble when I was in Disney because I wore a bikini on the beach and that was just really crazy for us, like we’re literally from Miami.

“Like, ‘what do you mean? It’s a bikini. Like I’m not naked.’ So yeah it’s definitely a culture change.”

The actress previously spoke about the incident whilst appearing on YouTube series, Under the Influence, in 2018.

At the time, Bella claimed she ‘almost got fired’ over her beach attire, adding: “Someone took a photo of me in a bathing suit. Yeah, it was a sexy bathing suit. It’s black. It’s got a little bit of fun little lace underneath. My mom picked it out. It was cute.

“They said, ‘You’re lucky that Bella has such a fanbase that we can’t afford to fire her at this moment in time. But if she does one more other thing, we will.’”

Bella became a household for her Disney role as Cece Jones in the Disney Channel original series.

Since then, the star has branched out into the music world and currently has her own OnlyFans account.

She joined OnlyFans in August 2021, which caused the site to crash due to the sheer volume of traffic.

The Daily Star has contacted Disney for comment.
