A Scottish Fold cat named Joseph has finally found a new owner after his previous owner tried to get rid of him because of his different eye color.
Joseph’s new owner is Evgenii Petrov, 29 years old, living in Saint Petersburg (Russia).
Petrov said he couldn’t believe his eyes when he first saw a photo of Joseph online and immediately fell in love with the special cat. However, because the photo and information were posted five months ago, he thought there would be few opportunities to buy him.
Still, he decided to call the seller and was delighted to find that Joseph was still there.
Petrov said Joseph’s unique eye color is heterozygous and does not cause any other health problems.
Heterozygosity is also particularly rare in the Scottish Fold breed.
The Scottish Fold is a breed of cat with a natural genetic mutation that affects the cartilage of the entire body, causing their ears to fold down. This breed is very friendly, intelligent, well-adapted and affectionate .
