Meet Eeyore, a miraculous little kitty.

He is a kitten lying in a shelter, turned over to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter, along with his mother cat and four siblings.

He is the runt of his litter.

This is Eeyore’s story via her Facebook page: “I’m a little ‘miracle. I didn’t even weigh 4 oz when mom brought me home from work. My brothers were much older and still are. I am what they call, the dwarf. We all did well for the first week…but one morning Mom woke up, started her routine, and came to see us. I was on my side, convulsing and barely breathing. I was almost gone.

He weighed less than 4 oz when they brought him home.

Being so little, Mom didn’t have high hopes, but she tried everything she could: liquids, karo syrup, and wrapping me in a warm towel and carrying me. She was tired and hoped I was gone when she unwrapped the towel… BUT to her surprise, I showed up!

I had a severe hookworm infestation and it took its toll… I crashed 3 more times. Mom took me everywhere, giving me fluids, special cat milk, keeping me warm…whatever…every hour for a week. It was very exciting, but a week later, things seemed to be changing in a positive direction.

That was in early November and here I am. I am about 8-9 weeks old now and I feel stronger every day. I weigh 1.2 lbs and do almost everything a normal kitten does. That’s why mom places so much importance on ‘my firsts’ and everything I do.

At 1.2 pounds, she does just about everything a normal kitty does.

I am what she calls a Christmas miracle, and for that I am grateful. I have been given a second chance and my goal is to bring joy and smiles to everyone I meet!”

He has big ears and a big heart!

All grown up now, weighing in at 11lbs! What a handsome boy!
