1962 Ford Galaxie 500XL Club Victoria G-Code 4-Speed

This 1962 Ford Galaxie 500XL is a red-over-red Club Victoria hardtop that is powered by a G-code 406ci V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The car is equipped with triple two-barrel carburetors, an aluminum intake manifold, cast headers, a dual exhaust system, body-color 15″ steel wheels, a center console, and a push-button AM radio. The seller’s wife acquired the vehicle in November 2022, and work performed in preparation for the sale included rebuilding the carburetors, replacing ignition components, and changing the oil. This Galaxie 500XL is now offered with a clean California title in the name of the seller’s spouse.

The front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in red upholstery and accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Equipment includes a center console, a push-button AM radio, a heater, and carpeted floor mats.

The three-spoke steering wheel wears a chrome horn ring and fronts a horizontal 120-mph speedometer as well as auxiliary gauges, while an aftermarket oil-pressure gauge is positioned beneath the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 93k miles, approximately 300 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The G-code 406ci Thunderbird V8 features triple two-barrel carburetors, an aluminum intake manifold, and cast exhaust headers. Output was rated at 405 horsepower and 448 lb-ft of torque when new. The carburetors are said to have been rebuilt in preparation for the sale along with changing the engine oil and replacing the spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, and ignition points.
